Corporate Presentation Information

We have our member meetings every Tuesday from 11:05-11:55 during the semester and we invite companies to come in and make a presentation to our members. The goal of this is:

  1. Our members get a chance to learn more about companies, know what the industry is like, what innovations are being developed in the industry, what kind of market there is and what to specialize in. This is also a way for students to possibly submit resumes to companies.
  2. It is an excellent way for companies to establish a relationship with our organization and a good way to recruit EE, CmpE and CS majors. Since we have about 50 to 60 members attend our meetings, this is great way to get exposure for your company.

We request that all presenters bring a recruiter(s) that can discuss or answer questions regarding the company and its hiring opportunities. Also, since this is a technical audience, we ask that the presentation be of a more technical nature.

The format for a typical presentation is as follows:

  • 10-15 minutes - Present your company (What the company does, where it is located, and what it is like to work for)
  • 20-30 minutes - Technical presentation (Recent development/research that pertains to your company)
  • 5-7 minutes - Question and Answer session (Questions about company and/or presentation)
  • 5-7 minutes - Time for 1-on-1 with speaker or recruiter(s) (Accept resumes, hand out brochures/goodies)

We also ask that companies donate at least 0 to make these presentations. About 0 is to provide pizza for our members at your presentation, and the remainder goes into our budget for other activities and programs that we have planned for later in the school year.

Corporate Presentation Benefits:

  • 45 minutes to speak to ~60 very technical students at a top institute who are potential hires
  • Choose presentation topic and provide speaker for presentation
  • Endorse company to interested students
  • Recruiter(s) welcome to come (and highly encouraged)
  • Publicity email sent to all members with company, job, and contact information (if desired)
  • Get away from your desk for a half day (if applicable)
  • IEEE T-Shirts and mugs given to presenters
  • Information about company distributed at presentation
  • Student question and answer session

Faculty Presentation Information

A faculty presentation is one in which a member of the Georgia Tech faculty gives a presentation that is sponsored by a company. The company provides the financial support for the refreshments and any necessary publicity.

Faculty Presentation Benefits:

  • Company logo on publicity flyers
  • Information about company distributed at presentation
  • Recruiter(s) welcome to come (and encouraged)
  • Leeway on presentation topic
  • Networking with Georgia Tech professors

Preferred Time Slots

Times such as Career Fair week are times of high demand for corporate presentations. They are Preferred Time Slots. Space may be unavailable as many companies simultaneously seek a limited set of presentation slots. Preferred Time Slots are often opportune times to convert interested students into potential employees.

Logo on Hardware Team Robot

Georgia Tech IEEE competes every year in the IEEE Regional South East Conference (SouthEast CON). Schools from the entire South East region of the United States will be in attendance. The largest student event is the Hardware Competition, in which each school builds a robot that performs a pre-defined task. Georgia Tech is a carefully watched contestant by many of the attendants, whom are typically numbered beyond 1,000. This competition gives your company a tremendous advertisement placement opportunity.

Further, our robots are often used for demonstrations outside of the SouthEast CON context, hence increasing your exposure. Lastly, our hardware team, which recruits some of our brightest members, will have increased awareness of your company.

Georgia Tech IEEE provides your company an opportunity to reach beyond Georgia Tech and place your logo on Georgia Tech’s robot, which will be used in a variety of contexts.

Extended Visibility through Additional Student Organizations

Georgia Tech and the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering contain a number of student organizations. It may be difficult to reach out to all the students you are interested in.

Webpage Logo Information

The Georgia Tech IEEE website, www.gt-ieee.org, is an award-winning portal for companies and students alike to participate in and remain aware of Georgia Tech IEEE’s activities. Our website features an advertisement space available for companies. This space is populated based on advertisement payments made by companies and is available to you as a basic advertisement venue.

Resume Book

Georgia Tech IEEE is glad to serve as an intermediate between our student members and our Corporate Partners. We maintain a resume book that is made available to our Corporate Partners. Our resume book is a compilation of resumes obtained from student members seeking employment.

Dinner or Lunch with Student Members

Corporate Partners have often found it beneficial to have lunch or dinner with student members. These are opportunities to engage students and benefit from great insight.

Georgia Tech IEEE will be more than happy to organize such opportunities for our student member s and recruiters alike to benefit from such interactions in small settings.

Logo on Branch T-Shirt

Georgia Tech IEEE is proud of its Corporate Partners and is eager to showcase them on the Branch T-Shirt it makes available to its members. Limited shirt real estate however requires us to limit this space to our top-tier Corporate Partners. The Branch T-Shirt is a great means to obtain visibility and remain in students’ minds as a potential employer.
